Allow user control on Join information posted to connected app (Strava)

Problem statement:

The launch from this week auto posts all Join training data to Strava including training done but also someones Join level or fitness status. Currently Join only supports a connected features sync on TRUE or FALSE but does not allow the user to define what data is posted to the connected app (Strava). As a user, I use Strava more as a Facebook like functionality and I do not wish all my followers to see my Join level or training status, this is my private information.

Ideally, users have control on what information from Join is publicly made available instead of all Join data of the user.

Request:

Allow users to toggle on/off what information gets auto posted to connected apps (in this case Strava).

i.e. allow the user to toggle on/off the following items being made available outside of join within connected features, advanced settings:

  • Workout type (the Join workout that was planned for the day, if none is planned, Join should not push a workout type)

  • Detailed workout information (i.e. duration, workout score)

  • User performance (Join level and fitness status)

    +1. I find the insertion of an advertisement for Join in the Strava text especially irritating. Please give me the option to remove this, among the other options suggested.

    I have Paused my Join plan, and still it adds all this information to my Strava (coffee) rides.

    I am on the verge of canceling Join because of this. This is SO annoying, I do not understand that a Product Manager was allowed to propose this amendment and that Join does not give users the control over this feature.

    This should be implemented as soon as possible. I really don’t understand that join thought it was a good idea to turn this on and don’t give the users the option to turn it off. Join in the title of the workout should be enough free advertising.

    Id like to add the suggestion that JOIN automatically picks the right activity to add the description and not just the same addition to every activity on the same day 😅

    To add - currently I am manually removing the JOIN information on a daily basis from my workouts since I don’t need my Strava followers to see the details of my JOIN status.
