Gear visibility and selection while riding on a smart bike.

When training on a smart bike (e.g. Wattbike) is it possible to see (and control) the gear I am riding in the workout window? This is needed when riding with Erg mode off. Currently I need to run a separate device to show which gear I am in.

This functionality is available through Zwift but I prefer to use the Join app for my workouts.
