Remove fixed rest day after three days training

After three days of training, JOIN will always give me rest day in my plan. This is independent of my training load in the previous days or availability for the next days.

If I know I will not be able to train in the days after the proposed rest day, I now choose an extra workout myself for the forth day. It would be useful if JOIN would look further ahead or would suggest a workout if you do not take the rest day.

Thank you for the request! We will not get rid of the rest day after three days of training. This is a strong part of the JOIN training philosophy. If you train well three days in a row, you really need a rest day to get better.

We will look into the work you can still do on that rest day, for example how long your recovery spin can take at maximum or if you should take the day completely off. This still needs some refinement.

'If you train well 3 days in a row, you need a rest day' is far too inflexible. What if you are on a training camp, or you only have some days available and then a long enforced rest?

Sometimes those 3 days of training may also be pretty low intensity, and there is a plenty of scope for additional training.

It would make sense to have a 'workout anyway' button with a warning, and then it gives you a z2 or recovery ride depending on what else is planned.

If you are on a training camp and then go for an easy ride anyway, the rest day just gets pushed back and you never get assigned a training again until you've rested. There's far more risk in this situation that you do an unsuitable training, rather than Join managing things.

Sounds like this is too late/rejected, but wanted to add my +1 to this after getting a bit frustrated with JOIN trying to force me to not go on my bike, even I feel good/fit. And manually selecting a workout just pushes the rest day to the next day, which basically makes me choose myself again and again :(

It sounds like there's another problem at the heart of this. Just saying 'don't schedule blocks of 3 days' doesn't seem to fix that.

Join's main advantage is its flexibility. It would be nice if there was some more of that in this situation.
